Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near Chicago, IL

Position Summary

Exciting design opportunity with a renowned, well-respected and iconic brand. Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana is seeking a Graphic Designer who brings fresh perspective, creativity and energy to produce marketing collateral that represents Girl Scouts’ vision and mission, elevates the brand identity and positions the brand as relevant and necessary today.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create new design and leverage existing assets for traditional and non-traditional media channels
  • Manage and execute design of print collateral including invitation suites, presentations, proposals, ads, handouts and brochures
  • Develop web-ready assets to elevate online presence including site refreshes, curated content, custom landing pages, and engaging banners and ads
  • With marketing team, create digital assets for email marketing and social media plans
  • Expand and maintain library of illustrations, iconography, and digital assets
  • Create new elements to enhance the customer experience and brand relevancy
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop the design process and feedback structure
  • Contribute design ideas proactively without waiting for directives
  • Assess current branding and brand competitors to create effective positioning and differentiation
  • Support departmental needs for collateral and spearhead photoshoots as needed
  • Plan and execute video needs including capturing, producing and editing footage for effective final product

 
Required Skills
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or equivalent required
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in graphic design with a passion for the Girl Scout brand

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Some experience with video production and editing
  • Skills with HTML, CSS and thoughtful UX preferred
  • Ability to work independently, shift priorities as needed, and meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks
  • Excellent time management and project management skills with a quick execution style

Creative Skills

  • Must have an exceptional eye for fresh, engaging and youthful design
  • Strong page layout execution and ability to visually display copy with interesting typography, iconography, and unexpected design choices
  • Ability to receive creative criticism and quickly adjust the design to correct
  • Makes confident recommendations based on articulate design choices and elevated design aesthetic
  • Displays a design sense appealing to girls and women
  • Understands the branding and is enthusiastic about the mission
