Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Part-time Nurse Supervisor (7:00am to 7pm every other weekend). 

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Director of Nursing. Manages patient care staff, oversees clinical care provided to residents, and ensures adherence to established standards of care.

Essential Functions:

  • Endorse, support and communicate the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and the mission of Ginger Cove Nursing Home to the nursing staff, residents and families.
  • Receive reports on resident status from Charge Nurse on each unit and acts appropriately on this information.
  • Conduct rounds every two hours to assure that each resident's needs are met and that care is delivered appropriately to ensure optimal resident outcome.
  • Assess and establish nursing care priorities, confer with unit staff on an ongoing basis to assure that priorities are achieved on unit performance
  • Ensure adequate shift staffing and any subsequent shifts as authorized by the Nursing Manager.
  • Monitor administration and/or oversight of medications and treatments to ensure safe delivery of care.
  • Evaluate delivery of nursing care and overall employee performance according to established policies and procedures of Ginger Cove.
  • Regularly communicate with Nursing Management regarding resident and employee problems and requests.
  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behaviors set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of duties.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting possible concerns.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding Privacy and Security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
  • American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC) certification required.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • At least three years’ experience in supervisory or managerial role required.
  • Knowledge and experience working with senior communities in a long-term care facility.
  • Experience caring for residents with Alzheimer’s and/ or dementia.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, providing excellent service delivery to residents, families and staff.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Full Covid-19 vaccination required.
