Gillman Home Center is looking for an experienced Credit & Collections Specialist. This position will be responsible for protecting company assests and overseeing the credit granting process. It is a very fast paced environment and will require the person to be well-organized and have strong attention to detail. This position will be based at our Central Office location in Batesville, IN.

Essential Functions:

• Provide excellent service to customers.

• Treat all team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect.

• Process customer applications – analyze financial statements; investigate credit background, evaluate financial risk, and establish credit limits/terms

• Research construction job information; prepare lien notices and perfect lien rights and bond claims in multiple states

• Manages customer profiles and ensure accurate information is entered into computer system

• Collect and reconcile accounts receivable; resolve short pays, claims and disputes

• Maintain collection notes in computer system

• Collaborate seamlessly with vendors, customer, the sales and accounting teams and management

• Assist with other projects as needed

• Follow all company policies and procedures.

• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Work Environment: This position will work inside at an office.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.

Travel: Local, to the bank and post office as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred

• 3 years of Credit Collections experience

• Strong problem solving skills, thorough accounting principles knowledge, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills

• Must have a strong work ethic, be highly-organized, and a self-starter

• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable

• Proficient in Excel and Word

• Possess strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
