GILBANE, INC. is Hiring a Payroll Administrator II Near South Boston, MA

The Payroll Administrator is a critical member of the Payroll Team. The ideal candidate has a background in a union and/or prevailing wage construction environment.

In this role you will be responsible for all daily activities supporting the timesheet and other related activities relating to the union and prevailing wage payrolls utilizing CMiC, which includes, but is not limited to, the auditing of union rates and PTO. Additionally, you will manage workflow to ensure all timecards, employee and payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately.

  • Assist with onboarding craft employees
  • Facilitate time and attendance processing
  • Reconcile payroll hours prior to timesheet posting and validate confirmed reports
  • Review field hours daily/weekly
  • Monitor and correct time entries provided by field users to ensure accurate time entry
  • Answer questions associated with field user timesheets/paychecks
  • Reconcile timesheets payroll data for non-exempt employees, validate employee pay rates and changes and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
  • Verify payroll timesheets, including entering any exceptions such as overtime, personal time, sick time, vacation time, etc.
  • Run and analyze pre and post payroll reports
  • Time collection and audit for weekly payroll process
  • Partner with Corporate Payroll to research and resolve general payroll questions
  • Production of weekly labor reports, payroll reports, union reports and other management reports as requested
  • Prepare monthly union reports
  • Gain understanding of union contracts as they relate to payroll
  • Prepare information as requested for Union Audits
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the business.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years payroll or human resources experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Windows based applications and payroll systems
  • Able to prioritize between multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide superior customer service in a fast-paced environment where strict deadlines need to be met
  • Outstanding team player with good interpersonal skills who can work effectivity with staff throughout the company
  • Union/Prevailing Wage payroll familiarity is a plus

Salary commensurate with location, skills and experience, and for Boston this ranges from $66,500.00 - $81,200.00 which includes an excellent benefits and retirement package.
