GigWorld Talent Solutions is Hiring a Commodity Manager Near DFW, TX

Job Summary: Responsible for the commodity strategies and sourcing assigned to them, including identification and development of vendors, analysis, and negotiation of portfolios. Responsible for leading and supporting the buying teams to optimize total acquisition cost at a global and regional level. To develop open, honest, long-lasting relationships with key decision makers within the commodity group as well as strong inter-working relationships, driving continuous improvement to maintain a market leading Supply Chain Management. Accountability and Scope:
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise within function, considered a subject matter expert and some degree of cross functional business process and technical knowledge is required.
  • Provides Strategic Procurement leadership to a small team, including accountability for people management & employee engagement
 Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance of the commodity and associated improvement plans and activities
  • Where applicable responsible for meeting bid sourcing requirements.
  • Where applicable ability to develop and implement a commodity or sub commodity Strategy
  • Where applicable responsible for the delivery of the strategy through effective team deployment
  • Working with existing or developing new supply chains, methodologies, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the Commodity including developments within the market, competitor activity, technology, and capability to ensure a strong negotiating position and deliver lowest cost acquisition
  • Drive the delivery of annual cost saving initiatives for the commodity and meet the terms of any contractual obligations, negotiating Long Term Agreements, to support the agreed commodity strategy
  • Adhere to all policies and regulations in relation to product sourcing, governed by legislation, customer specific/contractual requirements or Incora policies and processes
  • Participate and support product, package and global commercial sourcing requirements and commercial negotiations to ensure commodity knowledge and expertise applied to commercial bids and thus ensuring compliance to defined commodity strategies
  • Drive annual performance improvement plans and/or assigned projects for the commodity, working in conjunction with Supplier Development Engineers or customers where necessary to deliver sustained improvements in line with the commodity strategy
  • Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety, Data Protection and all those contained within the issued Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual
 Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or combination of education and experience
  • 4-6 Years of extensive sourcing experience within a technically demanding environment, including significant experience in establishing, driving, and developing Supplier Relationships, significant experience of negotiations including contractual and long-term agreements
  • 4-6 Years of extensive experience of people management and leadership
