About You:

You are an experienced Cloud Systems Engineer or Software Engineer with Data Science experience, or a Cloud Data Scientist, who is comfortable working with diverse and challenging data sets, who has strong proficiency in common tools applicable to both software development and data analytics projects. You are familiar with data migration and visualization, and have a desire to apply your expertise to an existing customer project in a way that helps move it forward to the next milestone of success.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Report to VP of Engineering, but work independently, primarily interfacing with customer team
• Work remotely and maintain focus and productivity without direct supervision
• Be available for occasional on-site meetings at customer facility in Washington, DC area
• Perform data migration, data visualization, and other forms of data analysis in a cloud environment
• Contribute to the evolving system design and architecture
• Contribute to the improvement of the UI/UX for the platform
• Expand the utility of current datasets 
• Support batch-based two-way data transfers in and out of the platform
• Support data migration into the platform
• Support data governance, validation, cataloging, and other policies critical to platform success
• Develop and support strategies for platform adoption and success
• Provide monthly status reports as specified
• Participate in daily Scrum stand-ups with team

Required Experience:

Must Have:

• Proficiency programming with one or more of (in order of preference): SQL, R, Python (Scala familiarity a plus)
• MS degree and 5 years of experience, or BS and 7 years in the field of Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science
• Eligibility for Public Trust Security Clearance.
• Ability to work in a cloud-based environment
• Deep familiarity and experience with Azure stack, including Azure Synapse and Azure ML Studio
• Deep familiarity with Databricks
• Proficiency working with standard data analytics tools

Desired:

• Visual Studio and PowerBI expertise
• Ability and comfort dealing with messy datasets and a changing cloud environment
