Assistant Quality Manager - Chattanooga, TN / Plant 1
- Drive Customer Satisfaction KPI (Incidents, PPM, CPM, Process Capability & Control) and Cost of Quality metrics attainment through process capability and control verification, quality system conformance actions and continuous improvement roadmaps towards OEM and internal customer scorecard objectives and customer perception through Q basics execution
- Meet target KPM, QRK, PPM
- Eliminate GP-12 containment & 3rd party resource
- mprove Q- Alerts, 8D root cause analysis, corrective actions and eliminate repeats
- Review Dimensional stability trends on products and facilitate effective Teiletisch events - dimensional review, actions and closure
- Review metallurgy, Joining technology trends on products and actions for stability
- Conduct robust problem solving (8D/error proofing, containment actions, root cause analysis, corrective action plan – implementation and verification);
- Enable robust launch PPAP/Safe Launch activity and launch preparedness in the facility by coordinating with Program Launch teams.
- Direct Customer and Supplier liaisons for plant quality activities and concerns including scheduled visits; ensure timely communication, containment, corrective and preventive actions, chargeback/cost recovery management
- nspire, educate, coach, train on customer focus, problem solving, project management, quality system aspects and leadership standard work for all site members
- A visible leader that champions change through team work, data driven problem solving, analytical with statistical approach, develops talent and plans for succession; and not afraid to Do the Right thing despite unpopular decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality Management with appropriate quality management credentials.
- 7 years of experience in metal forming (hot, cold stamping), welded assemblies, heat treatment, painting, sealing/adhesive applications and other joining technologies in Automotive/Mfg. environment in metal forming.
- Strong experience in quality management with passenger car OEM's – VW, BMW, Mercedes preferred.
- Has good understanding of Customer specific requirements including OEM audits, problem resolution, change management, OEM portals/ scorecards and ways of working expectations
- Technical knowledge - GD&T; Metrology and Metallurgy technologies and techniques; Core Manufacturing processes knowledge: Important to have experience in metal stamping, Welding (MIG, Spot, Projection), Adhesive/sealant technologies
- Drive Leadership standard work for self and the team - daily, weekly, month - closed feedback loop to attain objectives
- Ability to take on additional scope of responsibilities and objectives and being an integral part of the site leadership team
