JOB SUMMARY: 

G.E.O. Heat Exchangers is looking for a Director of Engineering whom is experienced in ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 Heat Exchangers and Pressure Vessels, as well as managing a diverse group of people. This position oversees and is responsible for the overall technical aspects of projects in the Engineering Department.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Assumes leadership and coordinates within the department to provide applicable documentation to the production team.

- Responsible for the knowledge and application of ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 Code and TEMA Recommendations.

- Assess customer-specific design specifications and apply them throughout the entirety of the design process.

- Provide detailed mechanical calculations that will be used for drafting and fabrication.

- Assess the requirements of a project, reconcile customer specifications with applicable code requirements, and communicate with customer technical contacts to clarify any unknowns.

- Break a project into tasks, communicate project requirements and schedule to engineering staff and delegate the design work to the appropriate personnel.

- Provide preliminary bills of material, with customer specific material and testing notes, to purchasing to ensure the timely procurement of long lead items in order to maintain projected production schedules.

- Checks all technical calculations and drawings for accuracy.

- Serve as the company’s technical representative at pre-fabrication reviews and other meetings with the client or ASME inspectors.

- Review customer purchase orders for accuracy in regard to scope of work.

- Maintains communications between other departments to assure accuracy of schedule and the coordination of purchasing.

- Mentor and help grow the department in experience and resources.

- May be involved in the interviewing and hiring process of potential candidates based on resource needs.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: 

- Working knowledge and understanding of ASME Sec. VIII Div.1 Code, TEMA Recommendations, and API 660.

- Bachelors Degree from an accredited university /college in Mechanical Engineering

- Minimum of 5-7 years experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer in support of manufacturing

- Ability to create 2D AutoCAD Drawings. 

- A high degree of capability in engineering management, communications, client relationship, and team management skills

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE: 

- Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word is required

- Proficiency in Heat Exchanger design software (RCS, CodeCalc, PV Elite)

- Knowledge of AutoCAD 

- Knowledge of Solidworks
