Seated in our Los Angeles based headquarter, Genies is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance & Accounting team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations and monthly and year-end reporting. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for recording transactions at the sub ledger level (AP, AR, and payroll), preparing journal entries, and performing the month-end close including account reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will be a highly motivated and self-starter team player with strong analytical skills, written skills, communication skills, and ability to multitask, and remain organized in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

What You’ll be Doing: 

• Actively involved in the month close process including preparation and booking of journal entries as well as preparation of reports and analysis.
• Recording detailed transactions at the sub ledger level (A/P, AR, etc.), ensuring proper coding and recording of transactions.
• Preparing and analyzing accounting transactions, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and provide variance explanations.
• Performing month-end reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and maintaining supporting schedules for various entities and accounts.
• Assist in the development, documentation and implementation of scalable accounting processes to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Participating in critical accounting projects (software capitalization, revenue recognition, stock compensation, blockchain marketplace), including the implementation of new system logic or enhancements, and supporting new product launches.
• Assisting on drafting technical memos and analyzing complex accounting transactions.
• Preparing audit schedules and assisting with year-end audit requests.
• Proactively identifying areas in need of improvement to increase overall team efficiency

What You Should Have: 

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Accounting, Business or Business Economics.
• 3-5 year work experience in public accounting and industry. Technology industry experience preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant.
• Experience with general ledger and sub ledger functions (A/P, AR, payroll and project costing), month-end/year-end close process, and financial audits.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), specifically in the areas of revenue recognition, stock compensation and software capitalization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and exceptional drive, precision, and attention to detail.
• Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong relationship building skills and abilities.
• Experience working with Quickbooks and have familiarity performing a migration from Quickbooks to an ERP system. 
• Competence in Microsoft excel and word.
