JOB SUMMARY

Assist the Genezen Finance department in daily transactional responsibilities and tasks related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as subject matter expert for accounts payable, purchasing, and accounts receivable functions, accounting system software, and policies
  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze financial data related to AP/AR
  • Review vendor bills for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Generate vendor payments (check, wire, ACH)
  • Prepare client invoices based on contract milestones met or contracted payment schedule
  • Review monthly AR aging reports and resolve outstanding AR issues, communicating with team members in various departments as necessary
  • Maintain revenue recognition spreadsheet and reconcile to financial system monthly
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and preparation of monthly reports
  • Develop and ensure compliance with accounting policies in conjunction with CFO
  • Act as point of contact for staff regarding AP/AR issues, processes, policy, and procedures
  • Research and resolve internal and external inquiries concerning account status
  • Identify areas for system or procedural improvements, and implement those improvements while ensuring appropriate internal controls are considered

Associate degree in accounting

BA with course work in accounting or business

ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE

5-10 years of experience in complex bookkeeping or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties

Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Knowledge of accrual accounting methods and accounting software applications

Skilled in creating and maintaining complex Excel spreadsheets
