Summary:

The Unit Manager - Back Office is responsible for leading a team to investigate and resolve contacts received from consumers, credit bureaus, debt management agencies and law offices for all lines of business. The incumbent will oversee the process of notices via third-party sources regarding bankruptcy, military orders and disasters, complying with regulations, laws and internal policies and procedures. The Unit Manager is responsible for managing team performance to include monitoring, training, coaching to achieve established service level and quality goals.

Responsibilities

As our Unit Manager-Back Office you will:

  • Supervise and lead a team of 14 – 20 account maintenance representatives.
  • Interview and hire account maintenance agents to ensure your team is fully staffed.
  • Ensure maximization of team productivity through efficient use and continued development of standard operating procedures.
  • Manage, train, and coach employees and develop a work environment that promotes high motivation and customer satisfaction.
  • Prioritize work and deploy your team, as required to ensure our customer needs are met in regards to on-time delivery of services and quality of work.
  • Monitor and audit your team’s attendance and performance to ensure results are achieved as compared to performance standards.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly performance evaluations for your team.
  • Process internal reporting and audit requests; partner with our compliance and complaint management teams.
  • Assign daily work and ensure adequate staffing coverage during working hours.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive working knowledge of state and federal laws (FDCPA).
  • At least 3 years of operations management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial services transaction services or account maintenance practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt well to change.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.

Essential Functions

You must meet work deadlines, have regular attendance, good verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a team, ability to multi-task, use a PC and a computer terminal, and the specialized telephone system. Our Account Maintenance Unit Manager position requires access to all areas of the office, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time, periodically bending and twisting, and frequent application of a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. You must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Genesis Financial Solutions will provide reasonable accommodation where necessary.
