Responsibilities:
As our Enterprise Data Architect you will:
- Work with senior leaders to establish the enterprise data architecture function
- Report to the VP of Enterprise Data with a dotted-line relationship to the VP of Architecture
- Lead development and adoption of a data and analytics strategy
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand their priorities and requirements, plan solutions, and develop business cases for investment.
- Participate and lead planning of technical projects, calculate ROI, TCO, maintenance costs
- Develop and publish models, catalogs, schemas, glossaries, roadmaps, online collaborative environments, knowledge repositories and other artifacts
- Operate transparently and collaboratively by regularly publishing work on the company intranet and continually soliciting and responding to feedback from all levels of the organization
- Lead selection, implementation and integration of data management and analytics tools
- Provide strategic and technical direction for key vendor relationships, beginning with Databricks and Microsoft
- Review designs, quality plans, and test results to ensure that business solutions are sufficiently robust, stable, scalable, performant and compliant to meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Help build the Genesis enterprise and data architecture capabilities
- Establish and lead communities of practice
- Mentor other data professionals
- Work closely with corporate leaders at the Beaverton, Oregon headquarters, with some flexibility to work remotely
- Travel occasionally to other Genesis offices, vendor locations, trainings, conferences, etc.

Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Information Management or Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10 years of total experience, with 4 years in a data strategy and governance role
- Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration, relationship-building, networking, influencing, leadership, prioritization, and project management skills
- Experience organizing and facilitating collaborative and rapid design and review processes
- Excellent spoken, written and graphic communication skills; ability to present, negotiate and influence at C-level
- Experience building an enterprise data roadmap and overseeing its implementation
- Experience with agile software developments methods
- Experience and depth in data modeling, experience with industry standard data models
- Experience with cloud migration or cloud-native development
- Expert-level knowledge of SQL
- Experience with design, tradeoff and selection of modern databases, Relational, NoSQL, Key-Value, etc.
- Experience programming, Python, Java, C#, etc.
- Experience leading and implementing enterprise data security frameworks.
- Experience in a highly regulated and information-centric industry such as financial services
