Position Title: Process EngineerLocation: Green River, WY Key Responsibilities:Develop/execute process design package for capital projectsPlant support (chemical and process subject matter expert)Develop new processes, products, and applications of productsTechnical documentationImprove existing processes to reduce cost and increase reliability, purity, and safetyExperiment with multiple variables simultaneously and identify acceptable ranges for all operational parametersConduct Process Hazard Analyses Mentor new engineersCustomer technical support needsActivities:Develop and implement solutions to process problemsImprove processes and productsTroubleshoot existing processesPrepare technical reports based on lab/plant test findingsAssist plants in development of short- and long-term technical plansLead process engineering initiativesTrain /teach operations regarding new projectsUse simulation or modeling to determine how changes in process affect the final product e.g., heat and mass balancePerform technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes, additives, etc.Electronic/paper research to identify potential solutions and competing technologiesCompetitor monitoring and analysisIdentify and develop process control mechanismsConduct safety hazards reviewsAssist in performing root cause analysesMonitor and report lake level and compositionInvolved in tailings managementUse a variety of analytical methods to monitor processes Conduct bench and plant testing (materials, additives, process modifications, etc.)Teach technical and process related classesOther duties as may be deemed appropriate by their manager and that fall within the general remit of the positionSkill, Capability, and Educational Requirements:BS Degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred4 years of experience Lean Sigma Capabilities (Black Belt) preferredFinal determination on pay grade will be made by HR and company leadership considering the candidate’s education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
