Position Title: Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level)Location: Green River, WY Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate Safety as the number one priorityWorking with Project Teams to develop mechanical design packages and fixed or rotating equipment specifications.Working with other stakeholders to ensure operability, maintainability, and reliability of engineered fixed or rotating equipment.Working with 3rd party engineering companies to review mechanical design packages for compliance with project objectives and applicable codes and standards.Support project activities and problem solving. Review and approve mechanical related Management of Change (MOC) requests. Develop and Maintain company mechanical and piping specification library.Participate or lead root cause analysis (RCA’s) of existing equipment issues as required.Activities: Be knowledgeable of, and comply with, all applicable site, MSHA rules and applicable codes and regulatory, safety and environmental requirements.Work in cooperation with the maintenance engineering group in project reviews, installations and major equipment to ensure maintainability and preventive maintenance procedures are developed.Prepare mechanical equipment descriptions, performs equipment sizing and prepares equipment data sheets.Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends - recommending actions, Estimation of resources, cost, and manpower required for specific projects.Prepares mechanical equipment technical specs and equipment RFQs to request budgetary or firm pricing to support estimating.Performs technical analysis of bids and review of vendor drawings.Provides technical input on capital projects and/or equipment specifications.Preparation of calculations including, hydraulics, ASME Calc, piping sizing, control valve and equipment sizing, pressure drop calculations, structural calculation etc.Assures all mechanical engineering designs meet applicable codes and standards including company standards, ANSI, ASME as well as others used in static and rotating equipment mechanical design and development.Trouble-shoot existing systems in the field, determine modifications to existing systems to improve performance.Communicates and interfaces openly and frequently with project managers, project engineers and other managers.Perform root-cause analysis of issues detected in development and existing equipment.Recommend improvement programs and practices intended to prevent similar failures.Generate formal failure analysis reports for distribution to the equipment owner.Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.Skill, Capability, and Educational Requirements:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent B.S. degreeIntermediate MS Office SkillsMechanical Engineering experience, including internships, in a a heavy manufacturing or chemical processing industry preferredERP experience, with SAP and/or Oracle strongly preferredFinal determination on pay grade will be made by HR and company leadership considering the candidate’s education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
