Job DescriptionRemote: This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This employee's role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis.
The Role:The Vehicle Intelligence Platform (VIP) is GM's new electrical architecture supporting GM's next generation of autonomous and electric vehicles. VIP uses the AUTOSAR Consortium's Classic and Adaptive standards for implementing software in our controllers. We are looking for knowledgeable network design engineers to help design the LIN, CAN, and Ethernet messaging that this software uses to deliver the exciting new features of the future.
Responsibilities:- Work with requirement owners and system design engineers to create serial data interfaces for new features
- Document those interface signals and their attributes in tools such as Vector PREEvision
- Develop and publish network protocol specifications and related software requirements
- Lead and/or support troubleshooting of issues on benches and vehicles
- Support content owners with training and general support
- Participate in reviews to ensure requirements and guidelines are being met
- Coordinate global collaboration between teams in North America, India, and other regions
- Support the AUTOSAR Consortium on topics related to serial data
- Travel as required
Additional Job DescriptionRequirements:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 2 years experience
- Demonstrated technical knowledge, experience, and ability in one or more networking technologies (CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc.)
- Experience or knowledge of related technologies (eg. Cybersecurity, AUTOSAR, serial data analysis, calibration processes, programming tools, etc.)
- Experience or knowledge of relevant tools (e.g. PREEvision, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, Doors, Rhapsody, IBM Synergy, IBM Rational Team Concert, etc.)
- Demonstrated excellence in analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills
- History of managing multiple, complex projects with the highest level of autonomy and accountability for results
Desired Skills:- Masters Degree in Engineering
- 3 years of relevant electrical design, development, or test experience
- Experience with Agile Product Development
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems
- Proven history of troubleshooting capability
