Job Description
This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work remotely, but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to live a commutable distance to the innovation center they are selected for. Relocation may be provided as needed.

About the Role
In this Operations role, you will be responsible for ensuring that GM applications are functioning properly. The applications that you will be responsible for are the heart and soul of the GM assembly sites. These applications are responsible for the management and flow of vehicles through the site. You will perform this job using Linux and Windows operating systems. The role is to maintain, troubleshoot, repair and document the application processes. In addition to resolving issues, you will work with the business partners and innovation teams to implement solutions to customer requests. You will also have the opportunity to use your leadership skills as an application owner.
Additional Job Description
Core Responsibilities
  • Support GM applications used in the assembly and propulsion sites
  • Utilize your experience and problem solving capabilities to delight our customers by quickly resolving issues and meeting agreed upon SLAs
  • Design and implement configuration changes requested by the customer to support their business
  • Oversee end to end availability of all application and infrastructure components
  • Support the business during critical periods and non-traditional working hours (production issue resolution, code deployments and patch release support)
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Develop strong and productive relationships with business partners, colleagues and management
  • Ensure all activities are managed per company IT methodology and processes
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • The position will require remote support of GM Manufacturing sites
  • The supported application is used to provide production critical information regarding plant floor operations
  • After an acclimation period, the position will become a part of a rotation of 24x7 on-call team

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 5 years' experience in technical IT function
  • 5 years' experience with Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Databases
  • Knowledge of Containers (Docker) and Container Orchestration (Kubernetes), manufacturing software
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and focus on data integrity and accuracy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work items appropriately
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using a third-party application software called Cimplicity
