Working under general supervision, the Test Engineer 3 is responsible for the design and development of engineering test equipment and/or test plans, procedures, and reports.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Participate in either or both of test equipment development —including Special Test Equipment—and system test definition.
• Responsible for the development of test equipment which may include designs with electrical, fluids, structural, and instrumentation elements, as well as operating software.
• Conduct of testing will require a capability to define test objectives and procedures for a full test program, and the technical writing skills to clearly define those test goals and plans, to outline test procedures in an understandable and reproducible sequence, and to report fully with test results and interpretations and recommendations.
• Collaborate with test technicians or development engineers in the completion of tests. Oversee work of less experienced Test Engineers or test technicians.
• Assist in preparation of Engineering work instructions, procedures and proposals.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related.
• 4 years of related experience.
• Strength in technical writing for plans, specifications, procedures, reports.
• Demonstrated ability to accomplish one or more project or program technical objectives and solve moderately complex problems affecting cost, schedule, and technical performance of products and processes.
• General understanding of servo and test systems.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Knowledge in personnel safety and product protection practices, and a disciplined adherence to test procedures and safety practices
• Understanding of test documentation format and content requirements.
• Knowledge of laboratory test equipment and software tools, including dSPACE, LabVIEW, and MATLAB.
• Clear, concise technical writing preparation of test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing techniques.
• Demonstrated success in improving a process or project.
