Overview

Responsible for supervising a line or area in Manufacturing Department, diagnosing and resolving production issues, maintaining schedules and product quality, reporting inventory, assigning jobs, insuring compliance and administering policies while at all time enforcing safety.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Supervises personnel, equipment and product in an assigned area in Manufacturing
• Diagnoses and recommends solutions to machine, tool and equipment problems
• Writes work orders for machine repair
• Responsible for weekly timecard approval and ensuring correct job accounting codes
• Collects and reports production quantities and inventories on a daily basis
• Assigns employees to jobs and ensures training on the operation of machinery
• Ensures compliance with all process controls, such as work instructions, production control records, general and detailed plans of inspection, pertinent military standard and union contract
• Promotes safety at all times and continuous improvement through support of employee participation in 5S projects
• Communicates, monitors and ensures compliance with policies
• Initiates, recommends and approves personnel actions, such as promotions, disciplinary issues and job disqualifications
• All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 1-3 years of supservisory experience
• Experience with Forging operations helpful
• Working knowledge with union contracts
• Excellent judgement and evaluation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the abiliity to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including some weekends
• Must be able to perfom basic math functions
• Microsoft Office experience including Outlook and Teams
