Overview

Responsible for supervising a line or cell in the Production Department, diagnosing and resolving production problems, maintaining schedules and product quality, reporting inventories, assigning jobs, insuring compliance, and administering policies in a union facility

Major Position Responsibilities

• Supervises personnel, equipment and product in an assigned area of the Production Department.
• Diagnoses and recommends solutions to machine, tool and equipment problems, and writes work orders for their repair.
• Maintains production schedules and high product quality
• Collects and reports production quantities and inventories on a daily basis and reports information to supervisor
• Assigns employees to jobs, and trains them in the operation of machinery
• Insures compliance with all process controls, such as work instructions, production control records general and detailed plans of inspection, pertinent military standards, and union contracts
• Communicates, monitors and insures compliance with policies pertaining to writing discipline work habits, safety and safety equipment use, housekeeping, and work schedules
• Initiates, recommends, and approves personnel actions, such as promotions, probation, discipline, and disqualification’s
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• This position requires a High School Diploma and 1 to 3 years related experience, with one year in supervisory capacity.
• Must have a working knowledge of union contracts, and safety, quality, and work standards.
• Must have souund judgment and evaluation skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner at all times
• Must be able to work independently and must have problem solving abilities
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• Ability to comprehend and understand basic math functions
• Must have broad knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
