General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems is Hiring a Manager, Inventory Near Scranton, PA

Overview

Provide direct supervision to key Inventory Control functions such as material planning and inventory control.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing inventory and warehousing in support of materials going to production
  • Develops and maintains the requisition system and tools to control and track material availability and transactions, inven tory reconciliation, inventory carrying impacts on expense and cost.
  • Provides resources and documentation to successfully pass customer audits (i.e., MMAS and GFM), representing invent ory control, GFM/CFM and related functions/controls as necessary
  • Manages the Government Property Administrator for GFM reporting and inventory Oversees cycle count activities and/or physical inventories.Manages, analyzes, organizes, plans and administers various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, materials, goods, labor, equipment, supplies and other requirements. Ensures they are delivered in good order at optimum time and cost
  • Identifies, prioritizes and assesses key logistics assets and Develops logistics plans in order to enhance di stribution of goods and supplies.
  • Ensures current and future material demand requirements are met in accordance with production
  • Compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics
  • Implement and execute continuous improvement considered as a resource of unique or complex problems. Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Prepare department budget, identifies budget needs and/or may allocate operating budget’s funds.
  • Ensures correct planning parameters are used to ensure proper order generation
  • Ensures materials are delivered to production buildings in a safe and timely manner
  • Analyze and manage inventory levels and transactions to ensure accuracy
  • Evaluate operational performance of the group
  • Coordinate with supply chain to provide data and participate in projects/teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness a cross both functional groups.
  • Monitor key metrics and report to management team
  • Develop documented procedures needed to effectively manage the production control functions and comply with all GD-OTS policies/procedures as well as Federal and State regulations
  • Ensures all team members follow security and safety policies. Determine appropriate action beyond guidelines. Reports potentially unsafe conditions to EHS Manager
  • Special projects and other duties assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field and/or 10 or more years of applicable experience. Candidate must have a broad knowledge of materials planning and production scheduling pipelines. Experience with MRP's systems preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Planning and organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills, including mentoring and development skills
  • Applicant must have very strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to travel between facilities on a daily basis, all facilities are within 25 miles of each other
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Microsoft Office and Powerpoint
