General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems is Hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor 2 Near Petersburg, FL
Overview
To supervise, mentor and support subordinates with their daily responsibilities as well as complete daily AP responsibilities for their assigned sites. Create AP models to support business needs and KPI and assist Accounting Manager with ad hoc request.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Reviewing, correcting, coding expense reports and payment authorizations.
- Reading and understanding purchase orders and internal receiving documents.
- Verifying and processing 2- & 3-way matching invoices.
- Creating weekly payment proposals.
- Research for audits and miscellaneous customer requests and questions.
- Reconcile vendor statements to internal system/electronic documents. Bank reconciliation. Reconcile the AP account.
- Understand the importance of detailed back up documentation and maintaining a document library.
- Support 1099 process for the FSC.
Act as the first level of management for subordinates to go to with day-to-day issues, problems, questions, workload. Mentor and monitor subordinate’s daily activities.
Make lower-level decisions on daily, routine transactions.
Assist subordinates in achieving performance goals that promote greater efficiencies.
Take lead on new projects.
Set a leadership example for all subordinates.
- Provide support and research budget variances upon request of management.
- Track KPIs.
- Create financial models in response to business needs and goals.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers professionally.
- Be the problem solver for subordinates.
Able to clearly define the root cause of an error, explain it to subordinates and correct it.
Address payment status questions and account errors.
Recognize system receiving errors and communicate that across departments.
Assist with banking related issues and statement balancing.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business; or a minimum of six years of Related Experience or Equivalent combination of Education or Experience. Minimal 2-3 years of Supervisory or Training Experience
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Understanding of basic accounting principle and GL Account reconciliations experience.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Products.
- Experience with a variety of ERP or Accounting systems.
