Overview

The Accountant 2 will focus on financial reporting, integrity and operational controls. The professional accounting work will consist of assisting in the month end and year end closing process, reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, running depreciation calculations, consolidation for financial data to present to upper management and performs related duties as required.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Assists with month end and year end closing process, preparation of the financial statements and journal entries
• Reconciles various balance sheet accounts to ensure their accuracy
• Reviews and compiles composite reports from individual financial reports, queries and worksheets required by management
• Consolidates data from locations for various monthly and quarterly reviews
• Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures
• Runs monthly depreciation and associated reports in the Fixed Assets System, (SAGE software)
• Assists with maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, US GAAP, CAS, FAR and internal policies and procedures
• Assists in preparation of annual budget, tax requests and governmental accounting report

Basic Qualifications

Required education ☒ Bachelor’s Degree

Degree Preferred education Bachelor’s Degree Discipline/Major Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

Additional certifications Years and area of experience (required for the role) 2-4 years

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must be able to present financial information to all levels of management when required Critical Professional related Technical Skills; Computer Skills Must possess strong MS Excel and oral/written communication skills
