GDIT is seeking a Web Designer to join our team to support the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) activities in Chantilly, Virginia.

The NPDB improves the quality of health care in the U.S. by encouraging state licensing boards, hospitals and other health care entities, and professional societies to identify and discipline those who engage in unprofessional behavior; and to restrict the ability of incompetent physicians, dentists, and other health care practitioners to move from state to state without disclosure or discovery of previous medical malpractice payment and adverse action history. Adverse actions can involve licensure, clinical privileges, professional society membership, and exclusions from Medicare and Medicaid. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement changes to the public-facing NPDB informational website by using CSS, HTML, JSP, and JavaScript
• Meet design standards based on HRSA, HHS, and U.S. Web Design
• Optimize page and website layouts based on feedback and data from the NPDB Customer Service Center
• Implement content updates based on changes to NPDB software and policy
• Create Section 508 compliant web pages, PDFs, and deliverables to ensure WCAG 2.1 compliance
• Provide good documentation and requirements gathering/implementation skills
• Conduct website maintenance and annual reviews of all web content
• Provide a quarterly analysis of the NPDB website usage
• Design and develop graphics and infographics that convey NPDB initiatives, data, and policies with the goal of educating the public, health care professionals, and the NPDB user
• Work across contractor and government teams to understand vision, requirements and solicit feedback

Required Skills:

• 0 – 2 years of experience in Web Design and a Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Familiar with HTML, JSP, CSS, Javascript
• Familiar using a content management system (GIT)
• Familiar using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Familiar using web analytics and clickstream analytics tools (Matomo)
• Familiarity with managing or participating in agile sprints with teams sizes over 4 members
