Job Summary and Purpose: GDT is looking for a highly qualified Managed Services Sales Specialist who will play a pivotal role in building, maintaining and growing client relations, understanding the customer's needs and meeting those through the effective management of a team of Service Delivery Managers. As the Managed Service Sales Specialist, you will perform a range of duties with overall responsibility for the careful planning, co-ordination, and delivery of client resourcing projects in line with our customer needs as well as engaging with all areas of the business to ensure the consistent deployment of processes, resources and technology to achieve the business goals. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Key areas of responsibility include business development, budgetary control, customer relationship management, networking, strategic planning, people management and performance reporting, globally. In this role you will… The Sales Specialist role is a quota-bearing sales persona and the purpose is to primarily pursue and land qualified leads identified by the Client Management team Building and developing excellent stakeholder relationships with new and existing clients, whilst developing new business channels and territories will be a core focus of this role The Sales Specialist will identify new opportunities from a selection of existing accounts, and present solutions, value propositions, partner configurations, cost structures and revenue models to the client that meet their needs Contribute to the pre-sales process by working with pre-sales architects to create the best solution design for the client Maintain a high level of relevant product and service knowledge to have meaningful conversations with potential and existing clients Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape, market pricing, and strategy and how to penetrate a new market Work with relevant technology vendors and ensure a deep understanding of their solutions and how they can contribute to our own solutions set Client interaction and engagement, and understanding to uncover and understand client business goals Use understanding of the client’s business and depth of knowledge on the technology-specific solution to personalize the recommended solution in line with the client’s need Articulate the solution/deliverables that the client requires, as opposed to the products that they need to buy Develop and maintain clear account plans for appropriate clients and targets; conduct functional gap analysis and address business issues raised by clients Be able to spot new sales opportunities within an account and work with the sales teams to drive them to closure Collaboratively work with sales teams, especially Account Managers, to successfully close the deal Scope and document solutions to meet customer requirements Identify, assess, and highlight client risks that could prove detrimental to the client’s organization and credibility Develop and implement an opportunity plan, to provide regular check-ins with the primary point of contact and have an established process for getting buy-in from all stakeholders Experience/Education 5 years ‘experience in sales operations, inside sales support, or business development within the technology industry preferred 2 years ‘experience relative to technical sales support preferred Experience working with clients at a variety of levels, as well as internal subject matter experts Demonstrate success in achieving and exceeding sales and financial goals and experience with providing sales quotes Solid sales experience in a technology or services environment Sound understanding of IT Managed Services environment Demonstrable experience of solution-based selling with a proven track record of sales over-achievement Prior experience in selling complex solutions and services to C-Level clients Experience in resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways to meet targets and objectives Strong experience in networking with senior internal and external people in the specialist area of expertise Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to prepare and conduct client workshops and presentations Strong customer service orientation and an effective influencer with excellent telephone etiquette and presentation skills, including appropriately handling calls from clients. Organized and demonstrated initiative - must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, high-pressure environment Ability to define sales strategy, proficient in team selling approach In-depth knowledge of competitors and ability to apply competing successful sales strategies Ability to have a client-centric approach, able to understand customer problems and find best-fit solutions Negotiation skills to craft solutions that are beneficial to customers, partners, and GDT overall Flexible to adapt quickly to short, new missions or urgent deadlines Strong business acumen Expert level capability and the ability to work independently with little instruction on day-to-day workload Team oriented, flexible and adaptable; Positive attitude and strong work ethic Highly polished and professional in demeanor Willing to travel to client sites as needed Working Conditions/Essential Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
