As the Inventory Controller at Gelberg Signs, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our inventory and inventory processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate stock levels, reducing wastage, and improving inventory-related procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management:
- Continuously monitor and control inventory levels to prevent overstocking or understocking of products.
- Administer requisitions from production and installation staff for material.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory database and perform regular stock counts.
- Order Management:
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to place orders for replenishing inventory items as needed.
- Ensure timely deliveries and accurate order quantities.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect incoming inventory for quality and accuracy.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or defects to the appropriate parties.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze inventory data and trends to identify areas for improvement in inventory management, demand forecasting, and procurement.
- Inventory Accuracy:
- Implement and maintain inventory accuracy through proper labeling, categorization, and organization of products.
- Resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Inventory Optimization:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover, minimize carrying costs, and reduce obsolete or slow-moving stock.
- Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and discrepancies.
- Provide insights and recommendations for inventory improvements based on data analysis.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all inventory-related policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain a safe and organized storage area.
Requirements/Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or related roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Benefits
This role is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Gelberg Signs and Painters and Allied Trades District Council No. 51 of Washington, D.C. and Vicinity. Compensation will include competitive hourly rates. Benefits offered include annual vacation days, annual personal days, employer contributions to health insurance, and employer 401K match and profit sharing.
