About the position: 

We are looking for a Director, Business Development join our Strategic Partnerships Team. As a key member of our Strategic Partnerships Team, you’ll play a key role in helping grow our business. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with building a pipeline of prospective clients and cultivating new relationships. The ideal candidate must excel in both business development and closing . This position is accountable to revenue objectives and tracking/reporting portfolio performance, productivity, profit, and company objectives. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Proactively identify and evaluate new opportunities to expand potential client engagement.
  • Help close new business and secure contract renewals for your client verticals and your reports verticals.
  • Build relationships with key contacts at client companies by developing a deeper understanding of client’s needs and the marketplace.
  • Articulate an excellent understanding of our products and how we can improve the potential clients business performance in a clear and concise manner.
  • Identify new business opportunities by keeping abreast of current events, media trends, and target market industry trends.
  • Manage full-cycle sales funnel business development, from prospecting to close of new clients.
  • Manage your day-to-day prospecting while evaluating outreach strategies, pitches, decks, and kick-off processes.
  • Must be a skilled hunter who can ask smart, insightful questions to make prospects think about their situation, needs, and criteria. 
  • Will prepare and deliver formal presentations to potential/existing partners, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of GeistM solutions, the MarTech Industry, and the partner's current and future needs. 
  • Must be business savvy, articulate a clear explanation of GeistM value proposition, communicate products/solutions GeistM offers today and understand industry trends.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and pipeline reports.
  • Track vertical accomplishments by comparing initiatives, contacts, and reporting on strategies, forecasts, plans, targets, and objectives.
  • Must have a proven plan for executing activities that will generate leads. 
  • Must be comfortable with uncertainty, thrive on the unknown and carry a conversation long enough to schedule an appointment or get the right person on the phone. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or similar field.
  • 4 years of business development/ sales experience. 
  • Digital marketing experience is a plus (Social media, PPC, Display, SEO, Paid etc.)
  • Proven track record of generating new revenue streams and maintaining client relationships.
  • Ability to understand customer pain points and identify potential GeistM solutions
  • Previous experience using Salesforce or equivalent sales software along with advanced Proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint or its equivalents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can-do attitude that will not take no for an answer the first time.
  • Team player; results-driven, data-gathering problem solver.
  • Ability to adapt communication skills to the audience - executive, technical, marketing, etc.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast paced, changing environment.
