GC Services Limited Partnership is Hiring a Proposal Writer Near Houston, TX

Overview

Work under the direction of senior management to write, design, and produce proposals, presentations, and other material used to help the company win programs. Assist in the preparation and coordination of all proposal-related and Marketing Communication activities.

Responsibilities

  • Review RFPs and like solicitation documents, and prepare and submit proposals in response to various business needs
  • Act as liaison for gathering information and resolving issues prior to bid submission, and coordinate final deliverables with various levels of management and company personnel
  • Create PowerPoint presentations in response to internal or client requests
  • Assist with corporate communication and marketing collateral of all types, including brochures, tradeshow handouts and write-ups, posters, employee newsletter, audit and due diligence deliverables, client communication requests, etc.
  • Manage time wisely, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and dedication to complete the various required tasks
  • Maintain concentration and focus in order to meet performance goals
  • React positively to an ongoing, changing environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle pressure when attempting to meet deadlines and performance goals
  • Maintain good working relationship with assigned supervisors and coworkers
  • Work safely without presenting a threat to self or others
  • Perform additional duties as required by management

Qualifications

Education:

  • A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required or equivalent experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or related field is desired

 Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience writing proposals and/or grants, or technical/professional writing experience in a business environment
  • Internship and/or experience writing in a corporate, fast-paced environment
  • Experience writing proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs for private and public sector companies Experience working in a dynamic, corporate environment as a both a positive and dedicated part of a team environment
  • Experience designing document graphics and a mind for creative deliverables are also preferred.

Computer Experience:

Employees must be able to type quickly and accurately, use a mouse effectively, and be advanced in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator

Proficiency in PC platform

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for this position
  • The ability to work with many different levels of management and departments facilitates the need for flexibility, professional candor, and a strong, motivated willingness to follow up and through
  • Must have a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent personal management and project accountability, and desire to work well as a great collaborator and contribute in a 100% positive way to a highly dynamic team environment
  • Must work well with diverse project teams under pressure in a fast-paced work environment with multiple and sometimes shifting priorities
  • Ability to adhere to company ground rules and exhibit professional business etiquette and decorum is required
  • The ability to be flexible and maintain a positive, professional, and team-building attitude is a must
  • Variable/longer hours (evenings or weekends) are sometimes necessary as project needs require it
  • Qualified candidates will be asked to complete various hiring tests during the application process
