Gastroenterology of the Rockies is Hiring a Payment Processor Near Louisville, CO

Full-Time
Non - Exempt
Pay range: $18.00 - $20.00
Reports to: Billing & Collection Supervisor
Location: Administrative Building – Louisville (not remote) 

Position Summary: 

Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with eight office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers. We are seeking a Payment Processor Assistant to join our growing team. 

This position is responsible for applying payments from a variety of sources to patient accounts. It requires a high degree of attention to detail as the payments must not only be applied to the correct account, but to the correct outstanding claim in the account. The payments may come from a variety of sources, and in a variety of payment types, (i.e., credit cards, cash checks, etc.), and the person handling this activity is responsible for understanding required processes and procedures in order to accurately process each type of payment. They will also be responsible for analyzing unidentifiable payments to ensure that they are resolved and applied quickly and accurately. This position requires continuous quick action on each item in order to not delay the cash flow of the company and to minimize required collection actions on client accounts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Post daily cash receipts, including but not limited to cash, check, credit cards, and insurance company payments.
  • Prepare daily receipt reconciliation.
  • Researches each payment to ensure its application to the correct account(s). Reviews all unidentifiable payments with management as they occur.
  • Verifies approvals by the credit card company on all credit card payments. Reports any rejections to management and resolves these situations in a timely manner.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

  • Develops new methods and/or modifies existing processes to streamline tasks and improve department efficiency.
  • Can be depended upon to be at work according to his/her assigned schedule, and to use the time and attendance system according to established requirements
  • Establishes and maintains professional and positive relationships with all members of the company, outside organizations, clients, providers, patients and any other individual or organization necessary to effectively perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of all company and patient information in all situations and activities.
  • Demonstrates positive support for the mission and values of the company in all situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in medical billing and collections. High level attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to interact positively and professionally with peers, managers, physicians and other department personnel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Word, Excel and medical industry software, (Intergy preferred).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
