Gastro Health is Hiring a Telephone Operator Near Fort Myers, FL

Gastro Health is currently looking for an enthusiastic full-time Telephone Operator to join our team!

Our Telephone Operators interact with patients daily, and they provide valuable customer service to our patients by scheduling, rescheduling, confirming, and canceling appointments. Our Gastro Health family can go home at the end of the day knowing they made a positive difference in our patients’ lives.

Here are some of the duties you will be responsible for:

  • Provide support for the physician and/or care center providers to assist them on schedule and advised appointment changes
  • Provide various duties, including answering incoming calls and routing them to the appropriate personnel; take complete message and send task as necessary.
  • Schedule, confirm and cancel office appointments.
  • Pick up voicemail messages on a daily basis, every hour.
  • Coordinate all aspects of hospital consults, reschedules, and maintain coverage to reflect correct information for the day.
  • Support the care center in areas to include assisting with record request, managing the fax inbox and scanning records.
  • Will cross train with the Front Desk to help provide coverage as directed by the manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 years experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Medical terminology knowledge required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
