Job Description
• Code and enter claims for professional office, hospital, facility, imaging and pathology.
• Assign current and accurate ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT and modifiers based on medical records in EHR and/or hospital systems
• Submit claims with information required per procedure and insurance (i.e.; attach required authorization/referral to claim).
• Provide feedback to immediate supervisor, medical assistant, nurse and/or physicians regarding clinical documentation to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
• Communicates with other departments to obtain clinical or demographic information as needed
• Codes records in a timely manner.
• Report missing or incomplete documentation
• Serves as resource regarding insurance resolutions and coding questions
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
• Must possess technical skills to work independently in remote working environment, including PC troubleshooting, program installation and VPN access.
