Core job responsibilities
The Data Analyst in Risk Management will develop and maintain models and scripts to optimize daily risk activities including price/volumetric exposure assessment, portfolio position management, and storage valuation, among others. The Data Analyst will engage with the Company’s core business units and external partners to address process inefficiencies that impact the Company’s enterprise risk management approach. The Data Analyst will interpret the details of large data, provide visualization, and provide effective assessment of Gas South’s portfolio risks and their effective mitigation. The Data Analyst will further compile and summarize natural gas market intelligence applicable to the assessment of contract rate design, natural gas asset evaluation, weather risk management, and load. The Data Analyst will also be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data utilized by SRM. Becoming a Gas South Analyst offers exceptional growth opportunity with a four-level career path. As Analysts grow and gain experience, they progress through the four levels (I, II, Senior, Lead) and take on greater responsibility as both contributors and leaders. New hires will come in at the level their experience dictates.

Specific to the Risk Management organization, the Data Analyst provides insight, modeling, reporting, and visualization that guides asset management decisions, risk position assessment, price and volumetric exposure, and a broad array of market-based performance metrics. The Data Analyst will leverage a variety of coding languages for data gathering, management, and analytics. Process automation and design are core strengths. The Data Analyst maintains strong analytic, and model building capabilities and is motivated by process efficiency and elegant system design.
