Summary

As a Project Management Intern, you’ll assist several Project Managers and will be involved in the day-to-day work of managing tenant improvement, healthcare, and education construction projects. Throughout the course of your work, you’ll spend approximately 60% of your time in the field, and 40% of your time in the office. Your work will be challenging, important, and rewarding not only to you, but to us. You’ll be integrated into the larger Gardner team, experience our fun company culture, and learn valuable hands-on skills and experience in project management.

This is a summer 2024 internship, estimated to begin in May and end in August. Start and end date to be mutually agreed upon by intern and supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Throughout the course of the internship, you will:

• Prepare materials for project kickoff meetings
• Participate in on screen take offs for proposals and pricing 
• Assist Project Manager and Project Coordinator with submittal and RFI processes
• Conduct safety and quality audits
• Document site observation reports
• Manage punchlist tracking and monitoring 
• Ensure proper project closeout
• Assist in creating project schedules, make adjustments to schedules as needed
• Utilize Procore and Bluebeam software
• Handle inventory and initial inspections as materials arrive to site 
• Prepare project close out binder templates
• Understand CSI divisions and scopes of work
• Learn roles and responsibilities of construction sites and on-site teams
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Junior or senior standing, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management
• Passion for construction and a desire to learn
• Proficiency using Microsoft and Google suites, proficiency with Apple products is a plus
• Effective communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow through
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Ability to take initiative and to self-manage projects
