The Argus Leader/argusleader.com, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK and South Dakota’s largest news organization, seeks an inspirational, results-driven top editor to guide a newsroom of 14 journalists in producing impactful journalism and driving digital subscription growth. The editor will help shape and execute the Argus Leader’s strategic vision for digital audience growth. The ideal candidate will have a track record of guiding innovative investigative and enterprise work. This editor will love to recruit and coach other editors and reporters, setting high standards, elevating the quality of the Argus Leader’s journalism and increasing audience engagement. Excellent news judgment and editing skills are a must. A successful candidate will embrace the latest developments in digital technology, video and social media and will experiment with innovative approaches to build audience. The editor will be well-versed in using metrics to shape beats, platform choices and search and social media strategies.
