Overview

GaN is seeking multiple mechanical engineers of various degrees of experience for an exciting large development project starting soon. The engineers will be a critical part of a multi-disciplined team that will design, build, integrate, test, verify, and validate a complex test system. The project will include large electro-mechanical systems, electro-optic equipment, software, models and simulations, instrumentation, and many types of electronics. Applicants are expected to be top-notch and result-oriented professionals seeking a new career challenge.

Responsibilities

• Designing new systems and integrating sub-vendor designs using 3D computer aided design (CAD)

• Working with team to decompose top level requirements into design-to requirements

• Designing static and dynamic objects to meet design-to requirements

• Overseeing the build-up of designed objects

• Performing structural analysis of tower systems exposed to dynamic forces

• Working with Government construction personnel to erect four large towers on Redstone Arsenal

• Design and develop custom instrumentation systems for collecting data on rain and dust

• Supporting business development efforts to include developing solutions to customer needs that are in line with your passions
• Mentoring the next generation of engineers as GaN grows

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. 

• Minimum of five years' design experience using 3D CAD, ideally AutoCAD 
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
• Candidate must be personable and out-going
• Demonstrated ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times
• Dedicated to customer service, quality, and team building
• Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently
• Ability to peform basic structural analysis 

• Ability to develop technical data packages

• Experience with 3D printing

• Familiarity with Missile Flight Testing
