Overview

GaN Corporation has an opening for a Configuration Management Specialist supporting the U. S. Army and Department of Defense in Huntsville, AL. This engineer will apply systems engineering processes and best practices to plan and execute project configuration management activities; and execute and oversee other systems engineering processes as part of a multi-functional development team.

Responsibilities

Duties:

• Develop, maintain, and help enforce configuration management processes for the project, including managing activities of a configuration control board.
• Lead the development and maintenance of corporate CM processes and policies.
• Recommend configuration management tools; install and configure tools to interface with other engineering tools such as Cameo Systems Architecture or the Microsoft DevOps suite of software development tools.
• Establish and maintain an identification scheme and repositories for hardware and software configuration items; assist with configuration identification of existing and developed artifacts.
• Execute configuration status accounting and regularly communicate configuration status to the project team; identify discrepancies and assist other engineers with problem resolution.
• Periodically plan and execute CM evaluations such as audits and reviews, and release control of selected artifacts.
• Recommend and help establish baselines for products and subprojects.
• Perform system administration of Windows and Linux systems, and virtual machines (VMs) on them, to build correctly configured systems for tests and demonstrations; record configurations of deployed systems.
• Light travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience with configuration management activities and processes; experience with configuration identification and status accounting is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in a technical discipline such as engineering, science, or computer science or engineering.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Good oral and written communications skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• 10 years' experience with configuration management activities and processes.
• Experience with military system technical data packages in accordance with MIL-STD-31008.
• Education or experience with Windows or Linux system administration, and administration of VMs or containers.
• Advanced Degree from an accredited university in a technical discipline such as engineering, science, or computer science or engineering.
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques.
• Security or CISSP certification.
