GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC seeks a highly experienced remote Network Engineer to support GAMA-1's new contract with the National Weather Service’s Office of Water Prediction.

This position will directly support the engineering and establishment of cutting-edge water prediction models and forecasting to support the Nation’s capabilities in preserving life and property.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• Non-Supervisory Role

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Design and Implement Network Infrastructure: Network engineers design and implement network infrastructure, including virtual private networks (VPNs), routing, and switching. They ensure that the network infrastructure is optimized for the cloud and that it meets the organization’s requirements.
• Monitor and Troubleshoot Network Performance: Network engineers monitor the performance of the network infrastructure, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and making necessary changes to optimize system performance.
• Implement Security and Compliance Controls: Network engineers ensure that the network infrastructure meets security and compliance requirements and standards as specified in PWS Amendment 0002, section 3.15 (supplied to Network Engineer at start of their work). They work with IT security and compliance teams to implement security and compliance controls and ensure that they are being followed.
• Collaborate with IT Teams: Network engineers work closely with other IT teams, including developers, operations, and security teams. They collaborate with these teams to ensure that the network infrastructure meets the organization’s requirements and can support its goals.
• Automation: Network engineers develop and implement automation processes to simplify and streamline the management of network infrastructure.

Required Skills/Abilities:

The Network Engineer should have proven work experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications (preferred), troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration skills, and client management skills.

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering or equivalent technical degree
• Four years or more of experience performing tasks listed above
• The ability to obtain a security clearance

Optional Preferred Skills: 

• Experience in high-performance computing (HPC) and clusters, machine learning and artificial intelligence (ai) applications and frameworks in a cloud environment. 

This is only going to be a for a 4 month project 40 hrs/week (1099) - Remote
