GAMA-1 Technologies is Hiring a Network Engineer Near Cleveland, OH

GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced remote CyberSystems Security Engineer to provide Cloud Engineering support to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In particular, the successful candidate will help drive GAMA-1’s efforts to support our Cybersecurity and Privacy Enterprise Solutions and Services (CyPrESS) subcontract. Operational, Research and Test Environments are utilized to ensure products/equipment are safe and secure before integrating them in the NASA environment. In support of Cybersecurity Standards and Engineering Team’s (CSET) work products and deliverables, the team requires development and test environments. CSET's test facilities are an important and integral part of the team's ability to produce meaningful and technically sound results. The timely administration, maintenance, continual improvement, and overall security of these facilities are a critical component to their security, availability, and ongoing Authorization to Operate.

The Cybersecurity Network Engineering and Design Support Engineer collaborates with NASA’s enterprise network provider to ensure the current network and new designs/implementations are secure and meet Federal regulations/guidelines.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support collaboration on designs and engineering of network security solutions, including both initial design and sustaining engineering and capacity management
  • Collaborate on designs of identity models, threat models and risk scoring for software defined network (SDN)/zero-trust network (ZTN)
  • Collaborate with NASA in developing network access control policies and requirements, including specifying logging events for SDN/ZTN infrastructure
  • Assist with analyzing results of log file and security event information 
  • Assist NASA with identifying cybersecurity engineering gaps within NASA’s Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
  • Submit change requests, assist with collecting requirements and ensure effective coordination with responsible organizations utilizing the NASA provided tools

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The successful candidate must be self-driven and possess the analytical skills to resolve challenging technical issues, often through collaboration with other technical subject matter experts. The candidate will serve a technical resource to the team regarding cloud engineering, security, performance, deployment, and troubleshooting. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to think strategically about the customer’s business needs and requirements, propose and architect appropriate solutions, and solve technical challenges.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline
  • In-depth understanding of cloud computing technologies, IT business drivers, and emerging computing trends and technologies.
  • Must possess understanding of networking principles and technologies and cloud security practices. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • United States Citizen
