About the Position

We are currently seeking a Project Surveyor to add to our team in Johnstown, CO. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and passionate self-starter to work directly with local and national land development projects. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary office environment. The Project Surveyor leads a survey team in processing and verification of survey data, preparation of survey drawings, as-built and construction stakeout deliverables, as well as creating subdivision plats, Records of Survey and Land Survey Plats. Mentors and provides direction to less-senior level Survey Department members.

Responsibilities:

  • Upholds Galloway’s values and standards by understanding and responding to client needs while providing quality consulting services.
  • Assist with creating property boundaries for roads, pipelines, facility sites, subdivisions, and other right of ways and easements by visibly marking location boundaries under the direction of the survey project manager.
  • Assist with processing of 3-dimensional field data.
  • Prepares survey documents and computations associated with boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, etc.
  • Research project information.
  • Reviews and evaluates survey field notes with the supervisor.
  • Prepares survey drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as directed.
  • Provides construction-related services including construction plan interpretation, computes point data to provide to field crews, and communicates with Client.
  • Ability to travel for short periods of time.
  • May mentor, train, and supervise field staff and Survey Technicians. Assists in determining staffing needs; takes an active role in the hiring, training, of team members

Requirements

 Education

  • Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in surveying technology, or equivalent experience.
  • LSIT or PLS preferred, but NOT required

Experience

  • Typically, six to ten years of Survey experience

Qualifications

  • Possesses strong working knowledge of land surveying
  • Possesses a high degree of understanding of the principles and practices of surveying.
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurements.
  • Possesses an understanding of easements and related research.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Ability to read plans and understand boundaries and topography.
  • Understands project schedules and budgets; is able to work efficiently within project guidelines.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects.

Benefits

The estimated starting salary pay range for this role is $29.00-$38.00
