Summary of Job Function:
The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, planning and leading Quality Assurance (QA) initiatives for manufacturing along all areas of the business. Duties will also include developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) along with the manufacturing team. Developing and implementing Production Quality Control Plans and in process quality plans. Leading APQP for new products and Supplier Quality programs. Implementing and maintaining a gage calibration system. Leading a formalized corrective and preventive action program. He or she will also be instrumental in reducing costs associated with poor quality. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing direction for the Quality Administrator, Quality Assurance Engineer(s) and the QC Technician/Inspector(s).
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required. Experience in similar industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronic/mechanical environments is acceptable.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managerial or leadership quality role required
· Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience/certifications
· Knowledge regarding ISO 9001:2008 Standards, QMS, Quality Control in Manufacturing environments
· Working knowledge - including metal fabrication, machining, assembly, circuit board manufacturing and supply chain management programs.
· Quality metrics, KPIs and CPI program knowledge required
· Ability to facilitate customer interfacing and host registrar, regulatory and customer visit/audit plans
· Must have experience with mentoring and managing a quality departmental team
· Project management skills a plus but not required
· Familiarity with Microsoft office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
Essential Duties:
· Planning and facilitating of manufacturing’s Quality Planning needs – including QC strategy, new product RTM, quality policy & standard operating procedures (SOPs)
· Create, deploy and maintain the quality management system (QMS)
· Facilitates monthly Management Review Meetings and reports/discuses Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the status of and adherence to the QMS
· Plans, schedules and conducts customer on-site audit events as required by the customer
· Provide specific oversite of the company’s Return Material Authorization (RMA) process
· Provide oversite and facilitate design control and the engineering change (ECN) management processes
· Support and maintain quality evaluations of the company’s supply chain management (SCM) program
· Oversees the plans for QMS Audits based on the company’s departmental SOPs, work instructions and forms
· Evaluates, creates and reports on Quality Metrics – such as rejects, customer returns, manufacturing yields, etc.
Identify, recruit, mentor and train resources needed to maintain a good QA/QC Department for the company
