Role Qualifications: 

• Must be extremely well organized and detail oriented along with exposure to office and manufacturing environments.
• Must be an excellent communicator and leader with a strong customer focused attitude and have the ability to maintain confidentiality in the handling corporate information.
• Must display a level of mechanical aptitude in conceptual design and discussion of design projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluates, analyzes, and makes recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.
• Interfaces with other teams in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
• Procures materials needed to construct prototypes and supervises the design engineering of new models.
• Plans and develops test programs for prototypes using computer-assisted engineering and design software.
• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
• Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and coordinates the procurement of new materials to support model changes.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.
• Performs technical analysis of competitive products.
• Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support.
• Other duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements

 Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree or related engineering discipline with a design focus preferred.
• Minimum of (7) years of product design experience. 
• Basic working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD designing software.
• Knowledge of basic metrology hand tools desired. 
• Machine Shop or Mechanical Assembly experience highly desired . Familiarity with basic machine tools: lathes, grinders, mills, presses, EDM’s.· Familiarity with basic machine components: levers, linkages, bearings, shafts, springs, screw threads, complex mechanisms.· Familiarity with material and mechanical properties for common metals, alloys, and industrial polymers.
• Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
