This position sits on-site within a dealership location in the Des Moines metro area and will report directly to the Regional HR Manager. Here’s what you’ll be doing: The HR Specialist position plans, organizes, and coordinates the activities of one or more functional areas of Human Resources including but not limited to: benefits administration, workers compensation, safety, leave administration, new employee onboarding, employee engagement activities and events, etc. This is an involved role that will partner with the HR team and business managers to enhance the employee experience and drive results in the areas of talent, culture, and operational excellence. Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties Provide administrative and project support to the Human Resources team Coordinate HR projects along with employee and recruitment events Communicate with candidates and schedule interviews Manages the new employee onboarding program including ensuring the new hire documentation is completed properly & occasionally conducts initial new hire orientation Compile and update employee records – maintain employment data Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits questions, issues, or problems Create employee engagement plans, getting budget approval and initiating activities Assists the HR Managers in various capacities with communications and guidance to ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures, programs, and regulatory compliance laws (EEOC, ADA, workers compensation, etc.) Drive employee engagement through effective communication, employee events & activities Other support as needed Here’s what you’ll need: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products Positive, “can do” attitude with a willingness and desire to learn & pitch in across the organization Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and information Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail Must be 18 years or older and be authorized to work in the U.S High School Diploma or equivalent, higher education preferred We are an Equal Opportunity Employer (( We Hear You ))
