Let's talk salary. The salary range for this position based on what we are asking you to do in the role starts at $72,000 and goes up to $112,000, based on qualifications. We'd like to start somewhere in that ballpark and go from there. Due to the classification level of the projects we support, we are not able to offer fully remote opportunities at this time. As a Defense Contractor, we are frequently working with sensitive material, and therefore, we need to ensure where you access your work is secure. You will have your own new, shiny desk at one of our G2 Ops offices, plus the occasional opportunity to work on-site directly with our customers (this is a good thing!). We do allow teleworking with prior IT Department and manager approval. Still not convinced? Allow us to elaborate. For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Technical Writer. The mid-level position for a Technical Writer will support an array of government contracts and government proposal opportunities/submissions for various Navy, Army, Air Force and other government sponsored agencies. The Technical Writer will provide support to the company’s business development and proposal team, the engineering team, and members of corporate leadership with writing, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation, proposals and technical briefs. In addition, the Technical Writer may also support company policy and guidance documentation (Editing/Desktop Publishing, etc.) The technical writer can deliver high-quality content while paying attention to detail and the knowledge that can quickly grasp an audience in complex technical topics.

What does this mean to you? To be successful in the role, our desired candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in in Communications, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 4 years of clearly demonstrated technical writer experience, (this must be apparent on your resume). In addition, you must be self-directed, flexible, working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, and have a willingness to do 'what needs to be done' in a small business environment. 

Lastly, as we are working for the DoD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DoD Secret clearance or must be able to obtain one.
