Let's talk salary. The salary range for this position based on what we are asking you to do in the role starts at $80,000 and goes up to $110,000,based on qualifications. Still not convinced? We're on the lookout for skilled DoD cybersecurity professionals to join our team as Senior Security Engineer. At G2 Ops, we're deeply involved in a multitude of Navy and DoD projects, including cloud, communications, intelligence, warfare, and cyber warfare systems. We also develop internal applications for the DoD, continuously expanding our project portfolio.
As a Cybersecurity SME (Subject Matter Expert), you'll have the chance to spearhead new projects, collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity from the initial design stage through to deployment. Your role as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) will be pivotal.

In this role, you'll employ your knowledge and continuously grow your skills, supporting our cross-functional teams in Security, Systems, Software, and Cloud divisions. Your expertise may be utilized in various areas, including but not limited to:
This position is perfect for versatile professionals passionate about comprehensive, end-to-end cybersecurity and continuous learning. Unlike many other roles that limit you to either technical or management tasks, here you'll oversee the entire spectrum of cyber support activities. Together with your teammates, you'll support and manage end-to-end cyber lifecycle engineering, from conception to completion.
What does this mean to you? We're seeking professionals adept in both the technical and managerial aspects of cybersecurity within the DoD. On the management side, you should have an in-depth understanding of the RMF requirements and processes, and the ability to maneuver these to achieve Interim Authority to Test (IATTs) and Authority to Operate (ATOs). This includes proficiency in creating all the necessary documents, reports, and artifacts that form an RMF package.
On the technical front, proficiency with cyber tools like ACAS, Evaluate-STIG, and familiarity with processes such as STIGs/SRGs is a must. More importantly, we need someone who grasps cybersecurity beyond the ‘checklist’ level and can collaborate with developers to construct systems that are not just compliant, but truly secure.

Due to the nature of our work with the DoD, we have certain prerequisites for this role. The ideal candidate should currently hold an active DoD SECRET clearance, with the potential to obtain a SECRET clearance. Additionally, you should possess an IAT Level II certification. We’re willing to work with the right candidate to get a security clearance.
