Let's talk salary. The salary range for this position based on what we are asking you to do in the role starts at $130,000 and goes up to $155,000 based on qualifications. We'd like to start somewhere in that ballpark and go from there. Still not convinced? Allow us to elaborate. For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motived, team-oriented Principle System Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA. This exciting position will lead the G2 Ops, Navy, and contractor team to automate engineering development for all U.S. submarine classes including. The work currently encompasses using model based systems engineering (MBSE) to develop the new Columbia class submarine capabilities, develop coordinated theatre level System of Systems (SoS) requirements for undersea warfare (USW) and allocating them across the submarine system domain, and finally managing the submarine interoperability requirements for communicating with joint service and NATO allies. Our team is responsible for transforming our customers engineering teams to using MBSE SySML models, virtualization platforms, and digital twins operating in secure cloud environments to build, update, and maintain these important submarine and USW systems, SoS’s and theatre level capability.
What does this mean to you? We are seeking systems engineers with a penchant for automation to help us to continue to set the industry standard for how MBSE is utilized to accelerate development. We’re looking for forward leaning technologists to strive to not only get the most out of Cameo System Modeler, Kubernetes, Jira, Monte Carlo Simulation tools, MatLab, DOORs, Cassandra, Github, and a host of other leading-edge engineering and development tools but integrate them together for streamlined and secure development. We’re looking for leaders to take on tough problems and build complex, highly sophisticated systems. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, computer science, or related plus about eight (8) years of industry experience (DoD military systems, C4I, Undersea, military programs, etc.). Our desired candidate will be skilled in operational analysis, use case definition, requirements management and analysis, development, test, and sustainment.
To be successful in this role, you should be able to communicate clearly with stakeholders and engineering leadership teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and Customer expectations are being met. The ability to analyze new and complex program-related problems and create innovative solutions that integrate schedule, technology, methodology, tools, and financial aspects are critical components to this position. The ability to present the content of complex issues to a broad audience is also critical to success in this role. You will work with stakeholders to address system reviews, issues, defects, and vulnerabilities while assisting with proposal development. You will lead team of engineers in assigned projects and may function as a project manager for certain projects.
We require a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (a technical degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, Information Systems is preferred).
Next, as we are working for the DOD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DOD Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI without issue.
