JOB Summary:
We are currently looking for an Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant performs accounting and clerical tasks to support the Controller. The Assistant will provide a supporting role in accounts payable, accounts receivable, audits, and more for multiple entities.
We are searching for a motivated person who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. The Accounting Assistant can be expected to assist the Controller and/or be responsible for the accounting tasks below, and should be thorough, accurate, and honest with good bookkeeping skills.
Responsibilities
· Maintain customer database and research customers requesting terms on account.
· Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
· Reconcile Property Tax Payments and track for accuracy.
· Maintain Resale Sales Tax Exempt Certificates and submit as requested.
· Manage contracts required by some utility and maintenance vendors.
· Accounts payable including posting payments via check/wires/ACH and online .
· Accounts receivable, including simple banking tasks.
· Prepare general ledger postings .
· Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
· Assist with end of year audit.
· Monitor and order office supplies.
· Assist and support all company personnel.
· Provide customer, salesmen and supplier support.
Experience
· An Associate’s degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or similar field. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience can be substituted.
Skills and Characteristics
· Can work independently.
· Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.
· Exceptional organizational skills, ability to analyze and synthesize information efficiently and thoroughly.
· Practical accounting experience
· Previous office experience a plus
· Positive attitude to support all areas of a small office environment

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
