G&A Partners is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Houston, TX

Overview

G&A Partners' client is currently seeking an Equipment Operator to join its team in Channelview, Texas.

Summary

The equipment operator is responsible for operating straightening equipment and other related equipment to produce pipe of various sizes, lengths, and quality. The Operator is accountable for the proper use of equipment, routine and preventative maintenance, inspection of the equipment prior to operating, reporting issues with equipment in a timely manner. Additionally, the Operator is expected to maintain the surrounding workspace in a manner that reduces risk of injury or damage to the employee and to the equipment. The operator must maintain a clean and orderly work environment, return tools to their proper location, disposing of trash appropriately, remove obstacles and objects that could cause injury and report issues to seek timely resolution.

Additionally, the equipment operator utilizes heavy equipment, such as forklifts, Reach Stacker or cranes to move spools and pipe. The employee is responsible for the proper use of the equipment, preventative maintenance checks and reporting any issues with the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all workplace safety requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Operates equipment consistent with the operating procedures and procedures provided by the company and/or by the equipment vendor.
  • Operates, maneuvers, navigates, or drives vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklift or Reach Stacker only when trained and certified by management or under the direct supervision of the supervisor.
  • Ensures the operating environment is clean and clear of tools, materials or other objects that would impact the safe operating of the equipment and the protection of oneself and one’s colleagues from injury.
  • Maintains the shop and operating environment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Participates in all safety and communication meetings.
  • Confers with supervisor and colleagues regarding any operational deficiencies.
  • Services, repairs, adjusts, and tests machines, devices, moving parts and equipment based on mechanical and electronic principles and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Communicates with customers and visitors directs individuals to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years oil and gas experience.
  • Coil tubing experience preferred
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Basic OSHA knowledge
  • Experience operating a large equipment (forklift) preferred
  • Successful completion of background check, drug test and I-9 validation.
