Job Description

JOB SUMMARY


This position provides leadership to the account management team in defining marketing objectives, creates the strategic plan for using holistic communications to achieve the client’s objectives, and ultimately drives performance marketing metrics throughout the client’s business. They are the day-to-day account owner. They are responsible for providing strategic leadership and building the accounts. They understand the fundamentals of performance marketing and delivering results and ROI. They act as the ultimate advisor for internal teams and external clients.

This role can be remote or a part of our Chicago or Detroit offices.

*While our offices are currently open, daily in-office attendance is not required.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with team and client management counterparts
  • Assists in setting the direction for the account by leading creation of strategic and tactical business plans that outline how the team will achieve its financial objectives. Communicates account’s objectives and strategies to team members and the role they play in achieving them. Regularly updates team on changes to and progress against the plan
  • Responsible for growing revenue and managing the P&L for all accounts
  • Challenges, inspires and hold team accountable for deliverables and the quality of the work. Develops career roadmaps, monitors progress, actively coaches and provides ongoing constructive feedback
  • Fosters a positive work ethic and work environment. Understands the dynamics of a highly charged, fast paced agency
  • Helps pre-sell and creating formalized POV to be shared internally or externally
  • Ability to confidently present C-level decks—able to think on his/her feet, redirect when necessary and answer questions confidently. Can persuade through a combination of thoughtful logic and emotion
  • Looks ahead. Plans ahead. Stays ahead. Pulls together the right people to solve the problem. Brings smart thinking to the client while operating for agency growth and profitability

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Agency Experience: 8-15 years of experience in an ad agency managing integrated strategy projects in multiple mediums- including digital, video, social, print and large-scale website maintenance. Experience with direct mail/direct marketing required.
  • Background: Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in business administration, program management, analytical management or marketing/advertising
  • Industry Experience: Healthcare and “franchise” or multi-location clients is a plus
  • Client Service: At least 8 years of client service or account management experience; Has had client interaction/experience and works to have best-in-class client service; ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Management Experience: Prior management and/or career development of team member experience preferred
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with advertising agency/digital marketing process, including strategic development, media buying and asset management, and production; Knowledge of management of all types of digital deliverables a plus
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to break down complex information into understandable pieces
  • Collaborative: Ability to work and collaborate with counterparts (media, creative, developers) to ensure the team has what is needed in order to deliver accurate work to our clients
  • Strategy: Foundational understanding of our clients’ business and marketing knowledge
  • Financial: Proven track record of developing budgets and managing project timelines and resources so all projects are delivered within budget
  • Presentation: Ability to present ideas, projects to client without senior account support
  • Skills: Knowledge of Excel, Acrobat Professional, Smartsheet, Jira
