Role: RF Design Engineer

Location: Sacramento, CA .Onsite is required.

Description:

• Performs network design activities for radio access network (RAN).
• Analyzes, designs, and optimizes wireless network to drive improvements in functionality, performance, and efficiency.
• In-Building and small cell CRAN design knowledge preferred. . 
• Uses propagation models, predictive analysis, various tools/processes (Atoll), and engineering principles to make additions and changes to the network in support of the organization’s strategic objectives. Creates design plans for network expansion and/or modification.
• Collaborates with multiple teams to ensure engineering designs are implemented as intended and to ensure quality issues are resolved in a timely manner. 
• Conducts research and trials to work through new developments and innovations. 
• Tests, collects and analyzes data and modifies as needed.
• May include GIS (Geographic Information Systems) activities involving the analysis of RAN data to create design plans to improve all key indexes and performance indicators.
• Presents to leadership on design plans.
• Subject matter technical knowledge
• Ericsson OEM design experience is a must.
• Lead design engineer for RFDS delivery, scoping and other design activities.
• Perform advanced Monte Carlo simulations and modeling using the Atoll RF modeling and ACP capacity planning tools.
• Create and review detailed RF design documentation and specifications for new site builds.
• Interface with Construction Engineering and outside contractors to review project scoping and designs.
• Local market lead for new 4G/5G new carrier adds. Manage schedules and work efforts of contractors to meet design deliverables and deliverable dates.
• Market lead for RF Emissions Safety, ensuring compliance in accordance with FCC.
