STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Furniture Mart USA, a top 50 furniture retailer, is currently searching for a STAFF ACCOUNTANT to join their growing team.

Furniture Mart USA is a family-owned furniture retail operation that was founded in 1977 with the opening of a single furniture store in Sioux Falls, SD. The company has grown over the years and currently owns and operates 46 retail store locations spread across six states with approximately 1,100 employees. Sioux Falls has remained the home of our headquarters with the Corporate Office and Distribution Center housed in a nearly 300,000 square foot facility.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The STAFF ACCOUNTANT position works closely with and supports the Accounting Supervisor, company Controller and Accounts Receivable staff. Core responsibilities include:

• Assist Accounting Supervisor and Controller with various monthly accounting duties including:

Journal Entry Preparation

Bank Reconciliations

Other Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations

Month-end and year-end close out procedures

Monthly billing of 3 rd party tenants and annual CAM reconciliation

• Accounts Receivable duties for the retail furniture operation including:

Enter and track various retail finance tickets

Reconcile various financing and credit card reports

• Other duties as assigned relating to the furniture retail operation

Qualified Candidates:

Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in Accounting and/or 1 - 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
