Furniture Mart USA is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Sioux Falls, SD

Join our team as a Human Resources Generalist at our Furniture Mart USA Corporate Office in Sioux Falls, SD! We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives at multi-tasking and positive communication, while enjoying a fast-paced workflow. In addition, this position acts as the face of the HR department, interacting at every level of the company. This is a full-time position (40 hours a week) working Monday through Friday

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist handles a variety of duties across the HR Department. This position is not limited to one discipline of Human Resources, but is a cross-functional, interdepartmental role.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Self-starter – pro-activate, engaged and involved
  • Conducts background check phone calls and subsequent communication regarding employment decisions
  • Oversees administration and communication of the Drug & Alcohol screening process
  • Completes verification of employment
  • Active member of the Employee Activities Committee
  • Enters data with a high level of accuracy
  • Conducts New Hire Orientation
  • Performs additional HR duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Upon job offer, must be able to pass a background check prior to starting work
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR one-year related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in the use of computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and e-mail applications
  • Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive data

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR one-year related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Requirements:

  • Standard office setting
